Welcome!
You’ve added Venmo and/or CashApp to your profile. Now you need a sign. So, here are instructions on how to get a QR code sign shipped to your door.

You have two options: a “Foam board” sign (a rigid, lightweight plastic sign) or a “laminated cardboard” sign.

FIRST — Download the design (pdf)

Go to busk.co/settings/tools to download the sign you want. These are the two signs that I think look most professional, so they should increase trust in your audience. That should mean they are the most likely to get you tipped:

This is what the signs look like:

How to make a foam board BuskPay sign

First of all, here’s a video showing the steps from start to finish:

Foam board is a light, rigid material made from plastic full of tiny bubbles. It’s the perfect material for a busker to add to their kit, as it is rainproof, won’t bend in the wind and looks great.

STEP 1: Choosing the right settings

To make a foam board sign go here:

signs.com/foamboard

Below are the settings you should choose (descriptions below)

Size (in Inches): Width 8”, Height: 11” for portrait. If you are uploading a landscape sign, choose Width 11”, Height 8”.

If you want a larger or smaller sign, you can do that, just make sure the ratio is the same. So, to get a sign that’s twice as big, just double the original dimensions. In other words, an 8″ by 11″ sign would double to 16” by 22”

Quantity: 2 to 3

We recommend getting two (or even three) signs, so you can display them in different directions when you busk. That way, your audience will always be standing in a place where they can scan your sign.

Coating: dry erase laminate

If you want to add a thin extra layer of protection you can, adding a “dry erase laminate” finish. This will make the sign slightly more durable.

Shape: Rounded corners 1” (optional)

This will remove the sign’s sharp corners, meaning it’ll be slightly nicer to pack in your case.

Everything else: leave as the defaults:

Printed sides: Single sided
Drilled holes: None
Accessories: None

STEP 2: Uploading your sign design

After you’ve selected all of the features above, just click the “Get Started” button and select “Upload File”.

Choose your sign design, and it will be added to the center of the canvas.

Resize the design by dragging the CORNERS (not the sides), until the LONG edges touch the sides of the canvas. Depending on whether you’re printing a landscape or portrait version of your sign, it will look like this:

Once the long edges are touching the sides of the canvas, the short edges will overlap the sides of the canvas.

Reposition the image if necessary. Once you’re happy with it, it should look something like this (and you can click ‘save and continue”):

Then you just need to pay and check out!

How to make a cardboard BuskPay sign

First of all, here’s a video showing the steps from start to finish:

If you want something a little less expensive you can create a cardboard sign. It will bend a little easier than foam board, but it’s also a little less heavy and a little thinner, which might suit you, depending on the rest of your kit.

STEP 1: Choosing the right settings

To make a cardboard sign go here:

Here are the settings you should choose (description below):

Size (in Inches):

Width 8”, Height: 11” for portrait.
Width 11”, Height 8” for Landscape

If you want a larger or smaller sign, you can go for bigger/smaller, just make sure the ratio is the same. So, to get a sign that’s twice as big, just double the original dimensions to 16” by 22”

Quantity: 2 to 3

We recommend getting two or three signs, because you can display the signs in different directions when you busk. That means, your audience will always be standing in a place where they can scan your sign.

Coating: Protective Laminate

Add a “protective laminate” finish. This will help to protect your sign from the rain (although it won’t be completely waterproof).

Shape: Rounded corners 1/4” (optional)

This will make the sign look better and removes its sharp corners. ¼” roundness will look better on a smaller sign. If you’re doubling the size, you can round the corners 1”.

Everything else: leave as the defaults:

Printed sides: Single sided
Accessories: None

STEP 2: Upload your sign design

After you’ve selected all of the features above, just click the “Get Started” button and select “Upload File”.

Choose your sign design, and it will be added to the center of the canvas. You now want to resize the design by dragging the CORNERS (not the sides), until the right and left edges of the design touch the sides of the canvas:

Once the long edges are touching the sides of the canvas, you can reposition the image if needed. It should look something like this (and you can click ‘save and continue”):
