Deactivating or Deleting your account

If you would like to stop your account from appearing on the website, you can ‘deactivate’ or ‘delete’ it in your Account Settings.

Either log in and click “Account” in the sidebar, or go to busk.co/settings/account.

Scroll down the page, and you’ll be given two choices:

Deactivating your account

If you’d like your profile to stop appearing on the website, but you don’t want to entirely delete your profile (in case you come back to it one day), click “Deactivate”.

  • Your account will no longer be visible in searches on the website
  • Nobody will be able to find, message or ‘fan’ you. Nobody will be able to tip you or buy your music
  • However, anybody who has already bought your music or sent you a tip will still be able to see your name.

Reactivating your account

If you ever want to reactivate your account, just go to busk.co and login with your email/password combination. You’ll be asked to confirm that you’d like to reactivate your account, and then we will send you an email with a link to click on.

Deleting your account

If you’d like for us to completely delete all of your information from our website, click “Delete”. This is an irreversible deletion of some or all of your data (see below), and you cannot reactivate it in the future.

The data we (might) retain

If you have not received a tip or sold any music on your busk.co profile, all of your data on the site will be deleted.

If you have received a tip via your busk.co profile, your account name will be stored. This is so that people who tipped you can still see who they tipped. Also, anonymised tip data (i.e. the size of the tip, the time it took place and the currency) will remain in our records — we just won’t know any details about the account that received the tip (because that data will be deleted).

If you have sold music via your busk.co profile, your name will still show up on the music dashboards of the people who have bought your music, and your music will still be streamable on the music dashboards of whomever bought your music. We believe that people who’ve bought your music should still be able to listen to it, even if you delete your profile.
